National Rural Health Conference 2021
Our National Rural Health Conference 2021 will take place at Wairakei Resort, Taupo from Friday 30 April – Saturday 1 May 2021.
This will be an in person event as we know that many of our members and rural health colleagues are really looking forward to meeting together to share their stories and catch up face to face.
Our theme is Reconnecting Rural – Kanohi ki te kanohi.
As the event is being held over just two days it will be slightly different to our usual 3-4 day events. We are aiming to allow time for everyone to reconnect, recharge and refresh. And of course to listen to some excellent presenters talking about some of the key issues of the moment.
The National Rural Health Conference 2021 activity has been endorsed by The Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) and has been approved for up to 12 CME credits for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) purposes.
The National Rural Health Conference 2021 has also been endorsed by the College of Nurses Aotearoa NZ. Nurses attending the conference can be allocated the appropriate Professional Development Hours for the actual hours they have attended over the duration of the conference.
Otago Community Trust have generously made funds available to sponsor a number of rural health professionals in the Otago region to attend conference. The sponsorship will include a contribution towards registration, travel and accommodation.
Applications are now open for rural for rural nurses, midwives, allied health staff, and practice managers to apply for assistance.
Preference will be given to those applicants who would not otherwise be funded to attend and who have not attended a National Rural Health Conference previously. Applicants need to be employed as rural health professionals in the Otago region.
